Whale Restaurant

I've been working on a restaurant with a concept of being swallowed by a whale for the entire year. Here are some logo designs. I'll post up progress and sketches of what the actual restaurant looks like possibly tomorrow.


Once the idea popped into my head, I started thinking of whaling tales and legends of being attacked by whales. Kind of along the lines of Moby Dick, but with a restaurant involved... The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Pinocchio probably helped a lot too.

I'm leaning towards using the more realistic wood cut drawing than the doodle I made.

Forever unsatisfied...

I still don't like how everything turned out, but here's my non-magazine magazine.










Phew! Got scared for a second there. I thought I'd deleted this post instead of, y'know, hitting enter and getting the next line. :|

Three of the typefaces used are my own, the other for the copy is Prestige Elite Std.
